Coming Soon from Tabletop Revolution!

HELLO AND WELCOME TO TABLETOP REVOLUTION!

We’re so excited you’re here!

This is John (“NerdyAdoptee”), I’m the founder and owner of Tabletop Revolution (TTR), and I want to bring you behind the scenes a bit to give you a better sense of what’s coming up for TTR.

TTR started in late 2024, with a host of inspirations and drives:

  • I wanted to combine my love for TTRPGs with my performance experience as a vehicle for incredible storytelling.

  • I wanted to work with and lift up diverse storytellers and performers.

  • I wanted to tell stories informed by and engaging with the deeply political issues that affect us all (and that are too often minimized or dismissed), in a way that’s thoughtful, nuanced, and elevates underrepresented and marginalized voices.

  • I wanted to feed my own passion for acting, improv, writing, and directing. I love being an artist, and I wanted to do more of it!

Since then, I’ve been working to create the infrastructure needed for a sustainable production company. We’ve already recorded several shows, and I’ll share more details in future posts, but for now, I wanted to share with you what to expect from TTR in the future.

What’s coming up for TTR?

The main show for TTR will be an audio podcast, featuring storytelling from a variety of genres and game systems, mostly series of 8-16 episode campaigns with occasional shorter stories or one-shots to add variety and explore more systems, settings, and themes. We’ll announce the facilitators (GMs, DMs, Keepers, Narrators, etc.) and cast for each campaign separately. For now, we’ve been working on modern fantasy (using the “Urban Shadows” system), 18th century pirates (using World of Darkness’s “Changeling: The Lost” system), and a whimsical foray into slapstick criminal comedy (using Grant Howitt’s “Honey Heist” system).

When will TTR launch the show?

Soon! We’ve already recorded some shows, and we’re waiting to launch until we have even more fully completed. The reason we’re waiting is that we want to prioritize two things:

  1. Consistency: Once we launch, we want to stick to a weekly or biweekly (once every two weeks) schedule and not have huge gaps or hiatuses.

  2. Sustainability: We want to have a large number of episodes already ready for publishing at launch, so that if there’s any hiccups with producing future episodes (everything from family emergencies to last-minute cast job travel, etc.), we have the flexibility to take our time and not cause stress for our cast, facilitators, editors, producers, or our audience.

I cannot wait to show you the incredible show we’ve been cooking up for you! If you’d like to be the first to know when we launch, sign up for our email list and keep an eye on the TTR website and social media.
