Preview: Honey Heist! - TTRPG Comedy, Tomfoolery, and Sugary Larceny
Our flagship show, the Tabletop Revolution (TTR) audio podcast, is coming soon, and we want to tell you about one of the first shows we recorded it: HONEY HEIST!
“Honey Heist” is a tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) that’s only one page long from well-known game designer Grant Howitt. It’s hard to describe the game more concisely than Grant himself:
Honey Heist is a surprisingly successful one-page RPG. Here is the plot:
1) You have a complex plan that requires precise timing.
2) You are a GODDAMN BEAR.
That's largely it. It's easy to run and easy to play, and there's a D8 table for hats if you want to be a bear that wears a hat, and who doesn't want that?
“Honey Heist” has become a huge hit at many tables due to its hilarious concept, easy-to-understand game mechanics, and endless adaptability.
Let’s meet the incredible cast of TTR’s “Honey Heist!”

You’re going to love “Honey Heist,” and we can’t wait to share it with you (wait for the surprise nacho cheese)!
As we discussed in our “Coming Soon” news post,
Since then, I’ve been working to create the infrastructure needed for a sustainable production company. We’ve already recorded several shows, and I’ll share more details in future posts, but for now, I wanted to share with you what to expect from TTR in the future.
What’s coming up for TTR?
The main show for TTR will be an audio podcast, featuring storytelling from a variety of genres and game systems, mostly series of 8-16 episode campaigns with occasional shorter stories or one-shots to add variety and explore more systems, settings, and themes. We’ll announce the facilitators (GMs, DMs, Keepers, Narrators, etc.) and cast for each campaign separately. For now, we’ve been working on modern fantasy (using the “Urban Shadows” system), 18th century pirates (using World of Darkness’s “Changeling: The Lost” system), and a whimsical foray into slapstick criminal comedy (using Grant Howitt’s “Honey Heist” system).
When will TTR launch the show?
Soon! We’ve already recorded some shows, and we’re waiting to launch until we have even more fully completed. The reason we’re waiting is that we want to prioritize two things:
Consistency: Once we launch, we want to stick to a weekly or biweekly (once every two weeks) schedule and not have huge gaps or hiatuses.
Sustainability: We want to have a large number of episodes already ready for publishing at launch, so that if there’s any hiccups with producing future episodes (everything from family emergencies to last-minute cast job travel, etc.), we have the flexibility to take our time and not cause stress for our cast, facilitators, editors, producers, or our audience.
I cannot wait to show you the incredible show we’ve been cooking up for you! If you’d like to be the first to know when we launch, sign up for our email list and keep an eye on the TTR website and social media.
